Becoming

Becoming was a 2023 solo exhibition by Autumn Spears at Freedman Gallery at Albright College. The exhibition explored themes of identity, memory, inheritance, and transformation through mixed-media works that combined drawing, painting, fiber elements, and storytelling. Rooted in African American cultural histories and personal reflection, Becoming examined the ongoing process of self-definition while honoring the people, traditions, and experiences that shape who we are.
